A Decade Passes in the Blink of an Eye

CubJ turns 10! Wow, a whole decade down... I can not believe that time has gone so quickly, sniff sniff sniff.  It really does seem like yesterday that he was born. As they showed the photos of the children who lost parents in the tragic events of 9/11, I really took to heart how lucky I am to have had these past ten years go so quickly with CubJ having both of his parents in his life and all of the blessings we enjoy without too much thought each day. CubJ will always be the bright spot in those dark days of early September 2001.

This year CubJ opted for a quite day of celebrations with his family. We picked him up from school to take him for and extended lunch. Given that he is ten, it seemed like a great time to introduce him to Tubby Dog the local epicurean hot spot for hot dogs of amazing combinations and proportions! http://www.tubbydog.com/menu-2/  The other highlight of this place is the old school arcade games, loud music and retro movies showing on a big screen. As you can imagine, it was a huge hit with CubJ and I had to use a crow bar to pry him and DaddyJ out to return to school.

Our evening was spent enjoying a dinner of CubJ’s choice: Montana’s and a Lego shaped birthday cake. While these were quiet celebrations, they were made even more special by getting to enjoy the day as a family. I guess it is a good reminder that not every year needs to be about trips and parties, it is about remembering jsut how much we treasure you CubJ!

CubJ, we love you very much, you are always keeping things interesting as: you share facts with us, entertain us as you re-enacting things from TV and amaze us by being such a super smart little man!Remember, we love you, we believe in you and we are always here for you our “Little Chef Zazoo” who “displays a happy altitude” . Thanks for being OUR son!!!!!!!!

Xoxox Happy 10th Birthday
